The Crown on Hatfield Road held their annual charity comedy night to raise money and donations for St Albans and District Foodbank.

As well as mounds of food, the pub managed to raise an additional £69.15 for the foodbank.

The pub hosts an open mic comedy night once a week, run by Lee Wilson and Phil Hawksworth. They have been organising comedy at The Crown for the past three years, with more than 300 different acts step up to the microphone.

Phil and Lee handpicked 11 of their favourite acts to perform on the charity night.

Lee said: “It’s great to be able to give something back to the community for supporting us. We were overwhelmed by the amount of food and products that people brought with them in return for an evening of free comedy.”
