Firefighters were called to a car engulfed in flame in a residential area of St Albans over the weekend.

The Volkswagen Golf caught alight in Clifton Street on the evening of Saturday, November 25.

Firefighters were called at 10.11pm and put the fire out with a hose reel. They left the scene at 10.54pm.

Police were notified by the fire service at 10.13pm and the fire is being treated as suspected arson.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious around the time of the fire or has any information should call Herts police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference number F1/17/5709.
