A woman in her 60s was taken to Watford General Hospital with a suspected broken leg following a two-car collision in Colney Heath last night (Sunday).
Firefighters, the ambulance service, East Anglia Air Ambulance and police were called to the site of the collision which occurred at about 9pm in Coursers Road.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust said: “A woman, believed to be in her 60s, was treated for a serious leg injury, and chest injuries – which were not as serious. Her injuries were not life-threatening, but she was suffering from a suspected broken leg.
“She was taken by land ambulance to Watford General Hospital for further treatment, accompanied by doctors from the air ambulance.”
A Herts Police spokeswoman explained that the two-vehicle collision occurred at the road’s junction with Tollgate Road in the village.
Road closures were organised to enable the recovery of the two cars involved – a black Vauxhall Zafira and a white Hyundai i20. Following their removal, the roads were re-opened just before midnight.
There was no further information available on the patient’s condition.
