Three new homes may be constructed on the site of an existing St Albans property, if plans submitted to St Albans City & District Council are accepted.

The application, validated last Tuesday (April 23), would see 480 Hatfield Road and its garage demolished with new dwellings constructed to 482 Hatfield Road.

The existing house at 482 Hatfield Road would be retained, with each new home featuring three storeys and five bedrooms.

Three bathrooms, a formal reception room, study and large kitchen-dining room would also be included in the new-builds.

Each plot will feature electric charging points in their parking bays.

"The frontage of 480-482 Hatfield Road has been designed to create a welcoming urban environment for occupiers, and to enhance the street scene.
