A 'Learning Hub' is set to be constructed at a St Albans primary school.
The Abbey CE VA Primary School's Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) has been raising money for the project since 2020.
The idea of a Learning Hub began as an external cabin, but has now progressed to an internal space within the school.
The hub will include a library, and a space for outbreak groups and 1-2-1 sessions.

The area will also allow more of the school to be hired out to external providers.
The Learning Hub will allow the school's current library to become a "more welcoming reception area", a waiting space, meeting room and sick bay.
Builders have been contracted to begin construction on the project this summer.

A spokesperson for the school's PTA said: "We have an amazing history as a PTA, who regularly raise around £20k annually, and have supported our school in some big projects over the years...
"...In addition to the Leaning Hub, we are hoping to raise enough money to extend the music space, which is currently a very small space at the back of the hall.
"Music has historically been a huge part of the Abbey School and this is very exciting to hear and much needed.
"So, we as the PTA have been tasked to continue to fund this project, as a Voluntary Aided school it’s very much on us to fund for this much-needed project.
"So, we have lots of fundraising to do in addition to our usual events.
"We need to raise more than £20,000 in a few months!"
To achieve this goal, the association has launched a 'Challenge Abbey' fundraiser, in which each student is asked to undertake their own challenge.
The students would raise money in the form of sponsorship, with bake sales, swims and cycles suggested.
An online auction will also be held, for which the PTA is appealing for prizes to be donated.
The association is also hoping to host a social night at The Horn pub and an outdoor music festival in the summer.
