SIR - Further to your report about the Wade family seeing orange UFOs over the city of St Albans (Herts Advertiser, February 5), I too saw two orange lights over the city and over my house. They were completely silent and one was moving faster than the other. When I told my family I had the usual comments about taking more water with it, and watching for little green men -but whatever I did I had to keep the doors locked and bolted.

I believe orange lights were seen over Wheathampstead a couple of years ago too. I was interested in these particular lights because of the speed they moved, the course they were on and the silence that accompanied them. I am used to helicopters flying around but they make plenty of noise. The aircraft are also noisy.

The thing that made me look at these a bit more was the fact that they were not following any path used by aircraft. It will be interesting to see if anyone else saw them.
