SIR - Harpenden Town Council and other parish councils have kept the new Local Development Framework involvement apolitical since it is fundamentally important to all residents for the next 20 years.

The Lib-Dems, by making a Harpenden LDF public meeting paid for by SADC, advertised so politically, not inviting other local district councillors, only inviting town councillors via the Town Clerk and the meeting initially chaired by the LD Parliamentary candidate, effectively precluded Conservative residents deeply affected by the area of Search 8 who would not go to a LD meeting. This was very disappointing and I believe could partially invalidate the consultation. I have copied this to the District Auditor for comment.
