SIR, - There have recently been a number of letters published indicating how much public support there is for a cinema in St Albans. The Green Party are currently conducting a residents' survey asking for views on a wide range of services in St Albans, from education to health. One of the questions on the survey asks whether a cinema is required.

We have gathered a large number of responses and there is an overwhelming support for a cinema, with 100 per cent of respondents supporting the idea. Given that we don't seem to be able to find a single person who opposes the opening of a cinema in our city centre, when will our district council leaders help to make this happen?

PETE EGGLESTON,

St Albans Green Party Parliamentary Candidate.
