R.A.F. CHICKSANDS AIRMEN/ HITCHIN G.P.O. TELEPHONIST. 1956/7

    Please help me find Shirley(christian name), whom I met at the (annual I believe) G.P.O. dance held in Hitchin town hall all those years ago (1956/7)   She worked in the Hitchin (I think) telephone exchange at that time.

   If anyone reading this knows of a lady in her very early seventies named Shirley, who could be the above mentioned, would you please tell her Brian (ex-R.A.F. Chicksands) is looking for her and would like to talk to her.
Hopefully, I can contact her before the Grim Reaper contacts me.
Also, I'm looking for Mick Hedeck,and Tony Quaddy who were with me at R.A.F. Chicksands during the same period. Both I believe, may live somewhere in the Hitchin environs.

   Any information anyone can give me about any of the above, will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

i am looking to locate an ex US Air forceman who was based at RAF bentwaters and RAF chicksands in the 1950's. the name Edgar Staats wouldn't happen to ring any bells with you would it?????

My name is Frances and I do not know Shirley but when I came across your message I thought you might know an airman that was in the Hitchin area about l950 or earlier.. I think he was Italian and was going out with an Ellen Maguire from Co. Cork Ireland... If you did know her or of him I would be so delighted to hear from you... Thanks. email francesandroy@live.ie

    Hello Frances,
                           Sorry can't help you on this one. Try at a R.A.F. re-union site, maybe R.A.F. Chicksands might do it for you. If he was "Italian" he's probably American/Italian and served in the U.S.A.F., lots of them at Chicksands,try it. Best of luck,

If your Edgar was born in 1935, the US Social Security records indicate he's deceased since 2004. I hope the Edgar you're looking for is someone else, sorry.
