my late uncle ernest william smith, was my grandmothers son, born out of wedlock, his name is on the Diddington war memorial, he served in the 2nd/6th suffolk regiment, died november 29th 1918, aged 18, i would love to know if anyone remembers this regiment and served in such, i never knew my unknown hero, but would love to know what they did in the 1st world war, and if anyone has photographs of this band of brothers or knew this person as a close friend i would be extremely grateful for any information given to me thankyou.
